University Policies and Procedures

Lehigh University takes steps to respond promptly and effectively to allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and sexual misconduct.  Lehigh will promptly investigate such incidents and take appropriate action, including disciplinary action, against individuals found to have engaged in such behavior.  Lehigh University will take action reasonably designed to prevent the recurrence of sexual misconduct, and, where appropriate, take steps to remedy its effects.

Filing a Report With Law Enforcement:

Individuals who experience sexual misconduct have the right to file a report with the police.  If a report is filed, the police will take appropriate steps in response to the report.  In order to file a report with University police, please contact:

Filing a report with the police is a separate process from pursuing a complaint through the University's policies and procedures.  In order to report a violation of University Policy, please see below.

Filing a Complaint With the University:

To file a complaint against a student, faculty, or staff member, or to request an informal meeting to discuss a complaint against a student, faculty, or staff member, please contact the Title IX Coordinator at:

You may also file a complaint about sexual misconduct simultaneously with both the Lehigh University Police Department and Title IX Coordinator by completing the online Gender Violence Reporting Form.  The submission of an anonymous complaint may limit the University's ability to investigate and respond to the complaint.

Students may also contact the Gender Violence Response Advocates Program ("Advocates"), a network of dedicated and compassionate staff members who are trained to assist survivors of secual misconduct and gender violence.  They provide initial support and referrals to survivors and are available 24/7 throughout the year.

Procedure for Complaints of Sex Discrimination, Harassment, or Sexual Misconduct Against Students:  Complaints of sex discrimination, including claims of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct, against a student are handled as described in the University's Student Code of Conduct.

Procedure for Complaints of Sex Discrimination, Harassment, or Sexual Misconduct Against Faculty/Staff:  Complaints of sex discrimination, including claims of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct, against a faculty or staff member are handled as described in the University's Policy on Harassment and Non-Discrimination.
